Heritage’s annual Lecture Series will begin on Thursday, July 18 with an evening of tales from the city’s “Legacy Bars & Restaurants.”

Anthony Veerkamp (National Trust for Historic Preservation) will moderate a lively discussion on the shaping of San Francisco through its legendary establishments, as well as efforts worldwide to preserve culinary heritage. Panelists include H. Joseph Ehrmann (Elixir) and Cat Hill (Gold Dust Lounge), among others. The lecture will conclude with a special announcement regarding “Legacy Bars & Restaurants.”

The lecture will take place at the Gold Dust Lounge at 165 Jefferson Street. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the event will begin at 6:00. Guests can enjoy happy hour specials and appetizers complimentary of Lefty O’Doul’s during check-in, as well as the melodies of the nightly piano player.

Tickets are $8 for Heritage members and students (with ID) and $12 for the general public. Series tickets (for all five lectures) are also available for $35 for members and students and $50 for the general public.
