On Monday, April 30, the Land Use and Economic Development Committee of the Board of Supervisors (BOS) will review proposed amendments to Articles 10 and 11 introduced by Sup. Wiener and co-sponsored by Sup. Olague. The proposed legislation matches what was approved by the Planning Commission in February, while adding new language that would potentially exempt subsidized housing projects in historic districts from preservation requirements.
The proposed legislation is the culmination of months of public hearings, with intensive advocacy by the preservation community resulting in significant concessions. Despite this progress, concerns remain. Heritage is urging the Land Use Committee to make revisions to Articles 10 and 11.
