Heritage is calling all interested college students to apply for one of our three exciting (yet unpaid) summer internships.
Communications Intern: Heritage’s Communications Intern will work on a range of projects, including augmenting Heritage’s social media platform by digitizing archival building photos and writing brief descriptions for each. The photos and descriptions will be used as part of Heritage’s “From the Heritage Archive” series on Facebook. This intern will also write content for Facebook and Twitter, the Heritage News print newsletter, email campaigns, and sfheritage.org.
Cultural Resources Intern: The Cultural Resources Intern will assist staff with research related to Latina/o history and heritage within San Francisco’s Mission District. Research will inform the Mission Public History Project—an effort to identify, bring visibility to, and promote preservation of important historical and cultural places within the Mission District.
Easement Program Intern: Heritage is the only local organization in San Francisco with a program to receive, administer, and enforce preservation easements. As an easement holder with 64 contracts, we are required to conduct regular easement monitoring. The Easement Program Intern will help administer the organization’s annual easement inspection by recruiting volunteers, conducting inspections of individual buildings, and updating Heritage’s easement database upon completion of the inspection.
