New Report: Cultural Heritage as an Anti-Displacement Strategy for Legacy Businesses

“How can policymakers leverage cultural heritage to ensure the survival of small businesses and nonprofit organizations that serve culturally unique or regional populations?” – Subject of study for Cultural Heritage as a Small Business Anti-Displacement Strategy for Legacy Businesses in San Francisco.

San Francisco Heritage is excited to have a case study included in Keeping Small Businesses In Place: Voices From the Field, a report published by the Small Business Anti-Displacement Network. Former SF Heritage board member Jim Buckley worked closely with Christine Madrid French, and Kerri Young to produce Cultural Heritage as a Small Business Anti-Displacement Strategy for Legacy Businesses in San Francisco, a study focused on the city’s Legacy Business and Cultural Districts programs.

SF Heritage was instrumental in the creation of both of these seminal programs and the study analyzes the use, application, and measured success of cultural heritage in supporting and retaining vibrant communities under economic pressure.
