At the March 27 Board of Supervisors meeting, Supervisor Scott Wiener introduced legislation to comprehensively update and amend Articles 10 and 11 of the Planning Code. These changes closely track revisions approved by the Historic Preservation Commission and Planning Commission earlier this year. Planning Department staff continues to work with Supervisor Wiener to draft new language for an economic hardship provision. The proposed legislation will first be subject to review by the State Office of Historic Preservation before going to the Land Use Committee of the Board of Supervisors in late April or early May.
Heritage is developing a document that lists all of Supervisor Wiener’s proposed changes to date. It will identify which proposed amendments have been eliminated or improved through the efforts of Heritage and the preservation community. We will share this document with you soon.
